Đinh Thị Lan Anh is an international student from Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam, and is currently a senior studying music education at the University of Notre Dame. At ND, Lan Anh is a program assistant for the Gender Relations Center (GRC), and her work focuses on creating safe spaces on campus for LGBTQ+ students, as well as planning initiatives to reduce interpersonal and gender-based violence on campus. In her 3 years with the GRC, Lan Anh and her teams have designed and led active allyship trainings amongst the student body in order to facilitate intentional and comprehensive conversations around privilege, power, and discrimination in a predominately white, Catholic campus.
Outside of school, Lan Anh works for a survivor- and youth-led organization called Know Your IX that aims to empower students to end sexual and dating violence in their schools, and to create anti-carceral solutions to these problems. In the communications team, her work includes creating weekly social media content, drafting press releases, planning national teach-ins, and providing graphics design and editorial support. In her free time, you can find Lan Anh trying her best to learn Spanish or watching Pride and Prejudice with her friends for the millionth time.
